Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Right Of Way Driving School. Please read these terms carefully. By booking a lesson or purchasing a package, you agree to comply with the following policies aimed at ensuring safety, fairness, and quality training for all students.
1. Services & Pricing
Right of Way offers private driving lessons and related services across Chilliwack, Extended Area, and Abbotsford & Agassiz service bands, as described on our website. Published rates, durations, taxes, and package totals are those shown in our online booking flow at the time you complete your purchase and may change from time to time.
Lesson formats: We offer 60-minute, 90-minute, and 120-minute sessions (and other specialty formats where listed). Scheduled time includes briefing, debriefing, and drop-off coordination where applicable.
Pickup and drop-off: Door-to-door pickup and drop-off are included for Chilliwack-area lessons as defined in booking. Extended Area pricing includes a stated travel adjustment. Abbotsford & Agassiz pricing includes a distance-based travel adjustment. Your selected area in booking determines which rate applies.
Road Test Combo: Combines a pre-test practice block with use of our training vehicle for the ICBC road test, as described on the Road Test Combo page. Pricing varies by service area; current from-pricing is shown under Services & Pricing for the zone you select.
Lesson packages: Multi-lesson bundles are sold at the prices shown in our booking system. Validity, scheduling rules, and refund treatment for packages are stated at purchase and on the website (including that unused lessons may expire after the stated period).
Additional Passengers: We allow a maximum of 1 additional person in the vehicle for observation purposes at an extra charge of $50 + GST.
2. Cancellations & Refunds
Driving Lessons: You must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so will result in being charged the full fee for that lesson. No-shows are charged in full.
ICBC Road Tests: If the school booked your test, we require 72 hours' notice to cancel. Failure to give notice may result in a late cancellation fee charged directly by ICBC.
Refund Policy:
- There are NO refunds for lessons that have already taken place.
- If you purchase a package and decide to stop, unused lessons will be refunded. However, used lessons will be recalculated at the regular (single lesson) rate, and the remaining balance will be refunded.
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing (email) to the Driving School.
3. Student Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and legal learning environment, all students must adhere to the following:
- Valid License: You must carry your valid BC Driver's License (or foreign license with translation) to every lesson. If you do not have your license on you, the lesson is cancelled and you will be charged in full.
- Fit to Drive: Zero tolerance for alcohol or drugs. If an instructor suspects a student is under the influence, the lesson will be terminated immediately with no refund.
- Proper Footwear: For safety, please wear flat, closed-toe shoes. No flip-flops, high heels, or heavy work boots that impede pedal control.
4. Video Recording
For safety, insurance, and quality assurance purposes, Right Of Way Driving School vehicles are equipped with video recording devices (dash cams).
- By commencing a lesson, you acknowledge and consent to the use of these recording devices.
- For more detailed information regarding data collection and privacy, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
5. Safety & Instructor Authority
The instructor is the commander of the vehicle and is responsible for the safety of the student and the public.
- Instructional Control: Students must follow the instructor's directions at all times. The instructor reserves the right to take control of the steering wheel or brake at any time to maintain safety or prevent a potential violation.
- Inclement Weather: Lessons may be rescheduled by the school due to dangerous weather conditions (snow/ice) or mechanical issues. In such cases, you will not be charged.
