Yes. We offer 5, 10, and 15-lesson packages with up to 10% off the standard hourly rate (3% for 5 lessons, 5% for 10, 10% for 15 in Chilliwack and Extended Area). Abbotsford packages are fixed-price.

Many students pay by Interac e-Transfer using the details on our How to Pay page (info@rightofway.net or 604-701-9036). Depending on the booking path, you may also pay by credit card through our card processor (often shown as PayPal checkout—you do not need a PayPal account to use a card).
Include your full name in the e-transfer message so we can match payment to your booking.

Prepayment confirms your booking and helps ensure your lesson time is held for you. It also reduces last-minute cancellations and no-shows.

Yes, payment must be completed within 24 hours after booking.
This helps keep the schedule accurate and ensures your lesson time stays reserved.

Nothing serious — your booking will simply be automatically cancelled, and the time slot will reopen for others.
No money will be charged, and there are no penalties, but please try to avoid this so the schedule stays fair for everyone.

Pricing is zone-based. Chilliwack lessons include pickup and drop-off in the core service area shown on our homepage. Extended Area bookings include a $15 travel adjustment in the listed price. Abbotsford & Agassiz bookings include a distance-based travel adjustment in the listed price. Always choose your area under Services & Pricing before booking so checkout matches your location.

Yes. Digital receipts are automatically issued after payment and can be used for insurance or tax purposes.

Yes. You must pay the full amount upfront to receive the discounted rate. After payment, your account is immediately credited with the lesson vouchers.

No — the lesson vouchers remain on your account; you can book them one at a time as you go. Booking earlier, however, ensures you secure your preferred days and times.

Package vouchers apply to the session length you purchased (60 / 90 / 120 minutes—see your package in the booking system). Book the matching service type; if you want a different focus (for example exam prep topics), tell your instructor at the start of the lesson.

All packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused lessons remaining after this period will expire and are non-refundable.

Lessons can't be transferred to people outside your household, but if you'd like to share them with a family member who lives at the same address, that's perfectly fine.

Just let us know in advance who will be taking the lesson, so we can update the student information.

Yes. You can book several lessons at once to secure your preferred days and times.

Yes — as long as you do it at least 24 hours before your lesson. If you cancel later (for example, 10 hours before), the lesson will be counted as used.

2. Then contact our office by email or phone to tell us whether you'd like a refund or prefer to keep it as a credit for your next lesson.

If you choose credit, just book your next lesson online, select your payment method, but don't complete the payment — once you click Confirm Lesson, we'll manually confirm it using your credit balance.

Missed lessons without notice are considered used and are non-refundable.

If a lesson is cancelled by ICBC or by us (for example, due to weather or car maintenance), you'll receive a full credit or refund — your choice.

All Right of Way instructors are certified by ICBC and undergo regular training. They operate dual-control vehicles and are fully licensed to instruct in British Columbia.

Yes, this is mandatory. You must have your Class 7L in your possession for your first lesson. This allows you to legally operate the vehicle under the supervision of our certified instructor.

Please bring:

• Your valid BC Learner's Permit (7L) or Driver's License (7/5).
• Prescription glasses or contacts, if required for driving.
• Comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for operating pedals.

All our training vehicles are equipped with automatic transmission, which is the standard for most students taking the Class 7 or 5 road test.

Generally, no. We use dual-controlled, insured training vehicles for maximum safety. If you have a specific need to train in your own vehicle, please contact us first to discuss insurance and instructor requirements.

This varies by student, but ICBC recommends at least 60 hours of practice. For structured training, we typically recommend a minimum of 5 to 10 lessons, depending on your current experience level.

You must bring two pieces of ID to the ICBC office:

1. Primary ID: Passport, Canadian Birth Certificate, or Permanent Resident Card.
2. Secondary ID: BC Services Card, Driver's License, or SIN card.

If you are not a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident, you must also bring your valid Work Permit or Study Permit (or other legal status document) along with the IDs listed above.

Don't worry—it happens! ICBC requires mandatory waiting periods before you can re-test:

• 1st Failed Attempt: Wait 14 days (2 weeks).
• 2nd Failed Attempt: Wait 30 days (1 month).
• 3rd Failed Attempt: Wait 60 days (2 months).
• 4th Attempt and Beyond: Wait 60 days (2 months).

Yes, we offer a dedicated Road Test Package which includes a warm-up lesson immediately before the test, and the use of our dual-control car for the test itself. This is highly recommended.

ICBC often requires booking several weeks to months in advance, especially in the Chilliwack/Abbotsford area. We recommend booking your test time as soon as you feel confident and then scheduling your final lessons accordingly.

ICBC's Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) requires you to hold your L license for 12 months before taking the Class 7 N (Novice) road test, and your N license for 24 months before taking the Class 5 Full Licence road test.

You face strict penalties. Violations can lead to fines, accumulating demerit points, and potentially having to restart the full term of your L or N stage in the Graduated Licensing Program.

Yes. Your driving record (or driver abstract) can be requested directly from ICBC to provide proof of your experience for insurance companies.

No, that is a myth. Most school zones in BC are enforced from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on school days only. Always obey the posted signage, as this is a high-risk failure point on a road test.

School Zones are active only on school days (typically 8 a.m.–5 p.m.). Playground Zones are active every day from dawn until dusk. Speed limits are typically 30 km/h in both.

You cannot rely exclusively on a backup camera. You must still perform shoulder checks and 360° visual checks using your mirrors and looking over your shoulder. The camera is only a supplemental aid.

Yes, absolutely. A shoulder check confirms your blind spot is clear. ICBC instructors will fail you if you do not physically turn your head and perform a clear shoulder check before every lane change, turn, and parallel parking maneuver.

Before putting the vehicle into reverse, you must physically look all around the vehicle (front window, mirrors, both sides, and turning your body to look out the rear window) to ensure all areas are clear of pedestrians or objects.

You must register with ICBC. Depending on the country, you may be able to exchange your licence for a BC licence without taking tests, or you may be required to take the knowledge and/or road tests. We can help guide you through the process.

ICBC has specific agreements with countries. If your licence is from an approved jurisdiction (like the US, UK, or Japan), you can often exchange it directly. If not, you may need to take the knowledge and road tests.
